Incredibly gentle, slow learning curve by characters who nevertheless learn more vital truths about themselves in 4 weeks than most humans ever will about themselves thru a lifetime
Very under-appreciated film. Watching it feels like going on a vacation. It also makes one wonder like Ichiko, “How much of my life is lived for the sake of other people’s expectations?” The road to self-actualization is long and non-linear, but it’s worth traversing.
more than anything it taught me to appreciate and find beauty in the mundan. it taught me to slow down. so much of me was revealed in it. i love it, greatly!
