Young Zoe Cassavetes and Sofia Coppola’s short lived program about a hodgepodge of stuff on the counter of fashion, film, music and basically what’s “in” for people around their age at the time. Also groundbreaking as one of the first shows to be made using digital cameras….so young trailblazers honestly.
Everyone who’s anyone was in this show (which is amazing since there’s only like 3-4 episodes ever broadcasted)

This Comedy Central series from Sofia Coppola and Zoe Cassavetes feels light years ahead of everything in its class. It created the mould for stuff like Delusional Downtown Divas (the Lena Dunham sartorial sketch show). I don’t really remember when I found it, but I’ll watch it on repeat. I’m hoping one day they’ll bring it back, but I’m not holding my breath. I dreamed of being a Gen Xer when I was a teenager and this series is why.

this show is soooo ridiculous i LOVE it. classic mtv. contestants live big brother style and have to do “70’s” themed challenges and aren’t allowed to use modern tech, and they are all disgusted by 70s style lol. it’s a really great example of how the early 2000s perceived the 70s, and how fashion, decor, and trends get distilled into the kitschiest version of themselves. really been interested in these cycles, i think we’re in the 2020s does 2010s twee/indie does 90s does 60s thing rn. think about all that transmutation! anyways the show is hilarious, i’m due for a rewatch, and it’s all available on youtube.

I took a break from reading Absalom, Absalom! by William Faulkner to read this.
(I was on a long waitlist at my library for this book, so I had to pick it up!)
I knew going in the vibe of the book going in but I definitely didn’t expect the narrator to be obsessed with Whoopi Goldberg and her pussy as much as she was….but all in all it was an interesting read to say the least.
