The audience in LA had no phones out?! Thats unheard of but they were also an older crowd so i guess it makes sense. Anyway, great show and way more planned than she lets off plus she did some of the classics. Let it Die is my favorite fall album, specifically for november and I cant recommend it enough (multitudes, the newest album, is cool too tho). See her live if you can
still in awe from seeing her perform last night - absolutely breathtaking she played not one, but two (!!!!) portishead songs, what a treat! live music really is what keeps me alive. this must be how people feel about organized religion
Lizzie opening for IDLES would be…something, lol. Lizzie’s show was wonderful and musically impressive. The set was designed to look like a recording studio and the musicians went in and out as needed, and you could see the sound guys mixing beyond a glass window, similar to what you’d see in a recording studio. She’s so good live and hauntingly consistent. IDLES was just sheer panic for 90 minutes. Fast and loud and sweaty. They gave 110% of what they had and it was worth every penny.
This is a 10 year old concert recording of Future Islands. It’s one of my favorite Youtube hidden gems, and it’s probably one of the best live recordings I’ve ever heard. Highly recommend the versions of “Back in the Tall Grass,” “Lighthouse,” and “Tin Man”
On letterboxd. Like how do you rate the Virgin Suicides or Killer of the Flower Moon?! So heavy and devastating!
Fully sticking to just saying whether i like a movie or not going forward!
coworker who followed me on letterboxd on my second day working there, who i rarely see, complimented my reviews this week and i got giddy as hell. She had me stuttering and i havent come down from that high, she’s so cool too
