came for mark duplass, stayed for amanda peet and steve zissis. it's about relationships ! set in LA. kinda boring to some i think, but i ate it up, as they say. season two had some dips in the plot, but overall it was really goood! great acting also. the pacing/timing was also really great, good balance between comedy and drama ... just all round well made television! it's on hbo max

flew a bit under the radar. very ted lasso season 1 vibes (makes sense bc brett goldstein [roy kent] is one of the people behind it)
it's about a group of therapists. one (jason segel) starts getting more involved in his patients lives while trying to deal with his own grief
it's funny, it's emotional, it's definitely setting up for a season 2 but i think season 1 has a good enough button that it still feels complete. also harrison ford gives genuinely one of my favorite performances of his career

corny teenaged angst, great and very much needed sapphic representation, talented young actors, assholes getting their heads blown up, it’s made by the same guy that made “end of the fucking world,” and i share a name and much of my personality with the main character so it’s extra immersive! i’m still so pissed that they canceled this for “lack of funds due to the pandemic” then shortly after made the fucking hype house reality show. flop. AND IT ENDED ON A CLIFFHANGER!!!!!

Great show, thought it was gonna be some sort of “haha funny laugh laugh” show when I saw the trailer but it’s actually a really gripping storyline with memorable and deep characters that tackle the complexities of Big Pharma.

ponyo • my favorite ghibli, cute song, target audience is younger than some other ghiblis, ancient fishes!!! awe-some mothers! comfort film
the taste of tea • i've also recced separately on here before, slice of life, funnyyyy, cute, beautiful, watched this a lot over the years
somewhere • i have this on blu ray... watched it many times, of all coppola films this one feels closest to me
