All these trends saying 2014/15 indie sleeze and tumblr aesthetic is back and I feel like I’m going insane because they mean 2010/11 right?? either way, I’m here for the 2011 revival. I bought stripey tights the other day, I wore a messy quiff to a party. Pic of me in 2011 below.
mouse this type of tumblr died around 2012 (my hs graduation year & when i deleted my account) but a different type of vibe took over the website after this—like the pastel grunge thing... i think that 2014 era is what a lot of ppl remember of the website and many forgot the previous one which was more linked to indie/blogging lifestyles and there is a lot of confusion when it comes to dating these trends for people who werent there lol
sofi yesss this makes sense! I went to uni in 2013 so I feel my prime tumblr days were over and it just sort of stopped existing in my mind for a while.
It’s more 2015 vibes and I’m not sure that it’s here to stay. However, I think we should take the “I don’t care how cringe I am” mental back with us to 2025. Especially with rising popularity of the conservative mindset.
Feeling extra nostalgic lately for how I dressed and how the internet used to look and feel in middle and early high school. The Addison Rae effect I guess. I’ve got paramore and Lady Gaga in my headphones and hope in my heart. It’s me and my peace sign necklace that I‘ve had since I was 13 against the world 🩷
