Speaking of Lou… What he could do with noise he could do with words too. This is one of my favorite truly narrative songs, and for me the most disturbing. When a certain character comes in near the end and tells the main speaker to head out… it’s with a rotten, bone-chilling, evil nonchalance that makes me feel sick for participating. His indifference to life outside himself is complete, and he looks you dead in the eyes expects the same :(

not to carly cosgrove post again but “you old dog” perfectly exemplifies how it feels to keep picking myself up and keep it moving in spite of my mental health and the forces forged against me and the rest of the world. makes me strangely optimistic.
