Jackson galaxy style. set up cat-friendly shelving, a cat tree, maybe tunnels if your cat's into that kinda thing. you're gonna have to devote a chunk of time every day to intentional play to make up for the stimulation your cat used to get from outside. dont worry just yet, he needs time to settle down from the stress of moving and adjust to a whole different environment! ๐
they are so smart :โ) like mini tigers they just want to climb trees and catch the birds in the trees and lay in sunny spots ๐ฅน open windows are a must in good weather <3 sometimes ill just pile up pillows randomly so they can sit on them or jump onto them with toys. another gr8 rec is putting an unfitted sheet over a peice of furniture to make a little fort for them. omg so fun. OH and do NOT forget โฆ. brown paper bags or package paper ๐๏ธ๐๐๏ธ
My cat is a stone-cold killer of mice, somgbirds, and the occasional baby bunny. In my apartment he yowls and yearns for the thrill of the kill, but with bird flu on the loose, Iโve had to keep his ass domesticated. But new harness/leash = new lease on life!! If your cat has a ton of energy but is unimpressed by solo play-time, try it out!
Befriend a cool little animal - โ๏ธ

Hang out in their apartment alone & imagine what itโs like to be them - โ๏ธ
every day, i try to incorporate:
1) some form of exercise
2) time outside (can be combined with exercise)
3) talking to/seeing a friend (or even a stranger, the important thing is social contact)
4) an intellectually stimulating activity that gives you a feeling of accomplishment (reading, practicing a language, doing a puzzle etc)
5) self care (nails, facial masks, body oil, or hell just a shower if thatโs what you need) when I maintain this routine my mental health stays fairly manageable! you can get through it ๐ช
my go-to quick and easy dinner! throw some sliced onions and peppers in a deep pan, get them nice and browned, add garlic, smoked paprika and cumin, plus a can of whole peeled tomatoes (crushed between your fingers). Let that simmer for while, then dig out some holes and crack eggs into them. cover until eggs are set, then top with cilantro, parsley, whatever you want. takes half an hour tops and looks impressive
