great, chill, cheap activity get the gang together and cook a meal. learn from each other. enjoy failing to properly construct the main dish. its always fun. the theme can be for decorum or food, but adds some spice.
damn Geoff Dyer can write. the first half is escapist and light and funny and romantic and mean and lean and well paced and plotted but also messy and free. sections unforgettable. the back half is strained and strange but it’s worth re reading the first 120 pages once a year.
