makes me want to go to hong kong; it's beautifully shot and evocative. not gonna lie that nicole kidman's face is distracting though...also i second others' rec for blue eye samurai, mr & mrs smith & the bear
After watching Fallen Angels (another film made by the same director) my film teacher showed me the first 20 minutes of Chungking Express. When I start a movie I have to finish it, especially if it is on one of my streaming services. I love this film from the experimental editing, music selection, the characters, and the cool vibe that Wong Kar-wai brings into his films. I cannot stress how awesome the music and visuals are in this film. Hearing atmospheric trumpets while the rain is pouring with this vibrant blue hue is just so awesome.
surreal, haunting, visually stunning. slow but if you give it the chance really compelling. makes good use of the drama of film and especially black and white cinematography(to me, makes it a must see). plus with costumes designed by coco herself !!
