reading gets me sleepy every night. the best books to read in bed are those more focused on rich prose instead of story and dialogue. just getting lost in letters, turns of phrase, looking up silly words like "saturnine" and their etymologies quiets my mind and makes me fall asleep in minutes

my current bedtime ritual is that I have an automation on my phone to put it in grayscale at a certain time after sunset to get me not to look at it so much after dark. i like to read in bed and listen to ambient music for like 30 min to an hour each night before bed when i can and it helps quiet my mind but also makes me actually tired. there's a noticeable difference in how fast i am able to fall asleep when i do this vs staying up in bed watching videos and scrolling
