i think i’ve entered into a state of borderline obsession with this guy. the first 2 listens were genuinely so boring and now i can’t even get out of bed without hearing Dream Police. this joins the elite club of true classics of the 2020s (absolutely, frailty, by the time i get to phoenix, wallsocket, ants from up there)

if you’ve somehow never heard of any of his music, listen to him. i’ve been a fan since 2022 and his album two star and the dream police gaining all the traction that it has has made me quite happy

i’m so, so glad mk.gee is getting his flowers and well deserved (and overdue) acclaim with “two star and the dream
police”…but you had to be there for this one. this was one of the songs that sold me on him and let me know his music was different. the honest, anxious lyrics, the space this song creates, the sonic quality of the percussion. ages like fine wine. check out his early catalogue if you haven’t yet please. some good, funky stuff there. i could probably write a dissertation on his music if i really wanted to, so i’m going to stop myself here.

i’ve been on the mk.gee train for awhile but i listened to a few more songs off his album ‘Two Star & The Dream Police’ (2024) and i love it sooooo much!! his music gives me The Police / Phil Collins energy and i admire his musicality and talent as a producer. would definitely recommend this album!
