and you are staying in the big hotels downtown SF MOMA Walk to Chinatown Lunch at Ferry Building White Horse City Lights not in downtown Pearl Spa ( ladies only) Foreign Cinema for dinner Zeitgeist And Stinson Beach if you are out Marin-ways. Use cabs not Ubers. Sf union cab drivers are brilliant humans.

- There are many excellent taquerias in The Mission (la taqueria is a classic, I am partial to Buen Sabor on Valencia), but I've been going to El Falorito basically since I was a kid, probably the best burrito in the city -City Lights Books is a classic bookstore to just hang out in, but Vesuvio right next door is a wonderful spot for a drink -There's a new park in the Presidio that's fun to have a picnic at! -Bottom of the Hill always has gigs happening, it's got a gig calendar up. 924 Gilman St if you're more into punk music but it's a BART and bus ride over into Berkeley (which you should also check out if you have time) -A bit outside of SF as well, the Marin Headlands have some wonderful hiking, but you will need a car to get there, similarly Pacifica/Half Moon Bay have gorgeous views of the Pacific, but a car will be required -You could spend hours in Golden Gate Park, I like starting at the De Young and then going from there. SFMOMA is a classic as well.

i lived in the mission for a year and sometimes i forget that! Ty for reminding me. - taking a stroll at crissy fields. preferably on a sunny day. the view of the bay and bridge is awesome and really sells the im in san francisco - if you want to splurge on eats please go to Zuni Cafe! It’s classy California chic. order a martini and a pile of french fries if you’re not up for a full meal - for a fun drink there’s true laurel and any drink pairs with their patty melt (would also recommend just the patty melt🤓) - my old dive haunt was the 500 club + they have a photo booth - garden creamery has a rotational / seasonal ice cream menu that’s always yummy. grab a scoop and walk to dolores park - the tea leaf salad!! at Burma Superstar - catch a movie at the Roxie they have awesome programming - don’t be afraid to walk up some hills. some random neighborhoods can have epic views i hope you have a great trip 🫶

With all due respect to ruffianbandwidth the University of Minnesota's Radio K is the classic model of the college alternative radio station The Current wishes it could be. (I still dig Mac Wilson's show tho). the Twin Cities is lucky enough to maintain more than one very cool radio station. Radio K plays new bands who sometimes sound like old bands. An actual eclectic mix of genres. Random metal every now and again. College kids who, all these years later, keep spinning Jeff Buckley. I'm always shazaming this station. It gives me hope that indie music still has a future. My favorite thing is listening to the dj reading the top 5 songs of the week and feeling old because I have never heard of any of the bands but they all have hilarious names and song titles. My other favorite thing is when a 20 year old dj plays Texas is the Reason followed by Braid in the middle of a "classic 00s emo" set.

Both are easy-- Gimlet is a basic gin cocktail with lime and simple and it's the first thing you learn in cocktail school. Last Word is a gimlet but with maraschino and chartreuse and good bartenders will know it. Dunno if there is still a chartreuse shortage tho.
