This song soothed me, made me cry, made me smile, made me feel everything !! Especially when I was in middle school. No matter what phase in life Iāve been in, this song has found me. I still listen to it from time to time almost six years later.
Itās usually found in spotify playlists I meticulously crafted from 2018-2019, wedged comfortably between other tracks like Engine by Neutral Milk Hotel and New Flesh by the Current Joys. Oh how I miss this music ! I donāt miss most of middle school, but I wish I could hear a lot of this music for the first time again.

such a tender and fun time... could just be looped in with that era of indie rock but there was something so distinct about it (twee? sparkly? childlike? maybe that's my own perception of its influence on me at the time?) someone still loves you boris yeltsin, freelance whales, clap your hands say yeah, midlake, islands, rogue wave, throw me the statue ETC!!!! i feel like i'm puking at homecoming bc my ex bf is grinding with my best friend and i am going home to burn a CD about it!!!!!

This was my favorite album throughout all of middle school and i still love it over a decade later, although I canāt really discern if itās the nostalgia or if itās really that good. This band was also my favorite until they disbanded at some point in the late 2010s, likely due to a lack of fan support and general popularity. I saw them open for Coldplay on their mylo xyloto tour, which was my first concert ever, and was hooked immediately.
Midnight dancers is still one of my favorite songs ever written, and I want it played at my wedding.
Important edit: this was when OFWGKTA was really big and I vividly remember being so frustrated because it was even harder to find stuff related to these guys because any searches with āwolf gangā were related to Tyler lol

you need an account but soo many treasures. old scanned newspapers - search for people, buildings, events of the past, etc. found out that my grandma apparently crashed into a parked cop car in NJ in the 50s lol. so many ridiculous vintage advertisements on each page too

hear me outā¦i drink, but i donāt want to have alcohol every day. yet most evenings after work i crave a cold bitter refreshing relaxing transition back into regular life. aka a beer. i realized that what iām craving isnāt even the buzz, just that ritual and the flavor i associate with it. soda is too sweet and hop water isnāt harsh enough. this brand is by far the closest iāve found to the actual beer taste, though itās not perfect. but totally suffices as an alternative 2 or 3 times a week.

a very embarrassing questionā¦can someone explain the like system? why are some stars black and others white or yellow? why are there some big ol single stars and some have several lil guys? what does it mean or does it mean nothing at all?? lol Iām mortified to ask this but will feel unmoored until I understand
