imo understanding why/how I kept collecting random stuff helped me focus only on what I had; if I wanted to buy smthn but it had NO PRACTICAL USE or smthn I owned ALREADY FULFILLED THE PURPOSE it‘s not getting bought 🤷‍♀️

one of my childhood pleasures that have stuck w me since. i love realizing i own 2 things of the same nature and deciding to expand my collection HOWEVER it needs to be a sincere collection (something u build over a long period of time and where each item has a little backstory) as opposed to an artificial one (getting 30 items in one go from the same place.) so far i have a silver rings collection and a "rocks that have a strange shape or pattern" one!

become a collector of something… coins rocks pins pens cards hotel mini toiletries stamps teeth jewels dolls/figurines old bus passes CDs DVDs hats posters hair clips silly putty/slime postcards novelty napkins from restaurants/cafés vintage license plates receipts earrings vinyls glasses handkerchiefs old lady broaches insects swords socks obsolete tech …my friends, the sky is quite literally the limit here. for the most part, anything can become a collectable if you decide to collect it. so…what are u a collector of?

Every few months the different library branches in my city will have used book sales. Everything is $1 or $2 and benefits the library. They always have a random selection that is fun to dig through
