I’m not strong enough to go full cold-turkey and delete my Instagram, but I am also not strong enough to limit my screen intake. My solution: delete the Instragram app and login on the browser. It is an absolutely horrible user experience so I’m never on longer than a few minutes. Get in, get out!

Co-sign! Been operating like this for a year and my desire to use it has plummeted. I keep it around because it is how I keep up with a lot of friends and mutuals. But it is no longer devouring my psyche. PI.FYI is instead.

I know I can't shake instagram for good, i'm not that strong, but I deleted the app and only go on the browser when I really feel like I need to be on it. makes it a much less desirable experience and I spend way less time on my phone in general

I deleted the app off my phone, but I’m logged in on browser and I check stories and messages there. But I kinda love not having IG with me wherever I go. It quells the urge to post everything for validation or to prove I’m having fun/looking hot. I also don’t get the crazy ads on browser, and I don’t get sucked into the insanity of the explore page (which is exclusively weight-loss content somehow) because on browser, search and discover are different buttons. A lot of 2025 for me has been treating my Poster’s Disease. I nuked my Twitter/X account, and only use Bluesky (took that app off my phone too). I’ll download the Instagram app like once a week to share some work and things to stories, but I feel 10000x more sane not scrolling the app on my phone all the time. I’ll check Reddit or Substack apps if I need a lil scroll action. Read, write, be present with your friends. Take back your attention in anyway you can!

Delete that app! i've only been using the browser version of that thing and it's so very terrible, but I get to keep in contact with my friends, give them little hearts on their achievements - muah muah - but without being bombarded by adds and the reels bug after a few scrolls. after using for what i want i log out and log in back again when i need it

Few things give me more joy than a good ol’ thunderstorm. And to sit outside, under a covered structure, with the wind sending droplets every so often… a gift.
