the hours are a bit funky but its a great used book store that specializes in books about New York and the surrounding area (they have other books too). So if you're interested in learning a bit more about the place you're visiting and maybe grabbing a cool souvenir, this is the spot

Housing Works Bookstore (some great finds here, housing works is a nonprofit that fights AIDS and homelessness, they mostly have thrift stores but also this 1 used book shop!)

this is THE spot in coolidge corner!! “dedicated to the art of browsing” and they mean it. used books in the basement, lots of lovely trinkets everywhere. discount on new books if you have a bike benefits sticker (and you can buy one there if you don’t!). perfect for a lazy sunday
