I meant to add this in my piece about TLC 2019 but I felt it was distinct enough to rec separately. Here, in Japanese, Asuka talks about how tough the match was while asserting the Kabuki Warriors are still the tag champions. Kairi Sane laughs, says the Kabuki Warriors are “untouchable,” and says no one can take the titles off them. The clip goes into Kairi being pulled from under the ring apron and spraying Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair with a fire extinguisher. Asuka then hits Charlotte and Becky with a kendo stick and a rope. Kairi is able to drive Becky into a steel chair with Asuka.

Charlotte walks to the ring as a recap of Charlotte vs. Asuka from the week before plays. The Kabuki Warriors are interviewed before the match. Asuka speaks mostly in Japanese as Kairi laughs throughout. They then claim they both will beat Charlotte before leaving gorilla position. Before the match Kairi hits Charlotte with her wagasa and Asuka attacks Charlotte with her fists. The match starts. The Kabuki Warriors quick tag to control Charlotte and keep her in their corner. Charlotte’s able to get some momentum, but the Kabuki Warriors are able to break out or kick out of pins. The Kabuki Warriors win after Kairi makes a stealth tag before Charlotte puts Asuka in a Figure Four (with the intention of putting her in a Figure Eight). Kairi hits Charlotte with an InSane Elbow. Charlotte is interviewed after the match saying she doesn’t regret wrestling the Kabuki Warriors.

A rematch from the previous week. A brief video plays before the match. What isn’t known at the time was the fatal four-way would be the last active onscreen appearance of Paige as the Kabuki Warriors’ manager before her “firing” months later. Paige explains she needed emergency neck surgery and wouldn’t be by the Kabuki Warriors’ side in this match (and as it turns out several more of their onscreen appearances and matches). Corey Graves highlights Asuka not being as dominate as she was on commentary, a reoccurring commentary motif (for her and Kairi) until the Kabuki Warriors win the tag titles. Alexa is able to dump Asuka outside the ring. Nikki's able to catch Kairi, put her in a swinging neck breaker, and place Kairi in a position to be pinned after Alexa hits Twisted Bliss on Kairi.

Since all of this is not on YouTube. On this episode of SmackDown the Tokyo tour dates are recapped, complete with footage of the Kabuki Warriors winning against the IIconics in Tokyo. A backstage segment (linked here) follows where Paige and the Kabuki Warriors confront the IIconics for the title shot they were promised. The IIconics delay the title match. The segment ends with face manager Paige slapping Billie Kay.

Drafts is what I use for a lot of things between my iPad and a webpage. I’m using this to take pointless notes about the Kabuki Warriors things I’m watching on Peacock. Like any gaps in Kabuki Warriors appearances. Or deciding maybe I’m not too crazy about the IIconics as an onscreen tag team after all. Or my irritation with this one smark blog (now defunct for a very good reason, name of blog withheld here) I’m using to find their appearances.
