🎪 Cabana (amazing interiors + each issue comes covered in dead stock fabric from a luxury brand) 🏸 racquet mag (explores the niche of tennis and other racquet sports) 🪄 a magazine curated by (Dan thawley is my idol!!!) 🪆 the gentlewoman (Penny Martin is also my idol) 🌸 BLUMENHAUS (deserves its own rec tbh— the most gorgeous large-format mag all about flowers, florals, plants, and gardening)

Using southern expressions

Hoot and a holler. Let go and let god. Tongue enough for two sets of teeth.
I’m southern and my mother told me it was “classless” to have an accent and use these phrases. So obviously I’ve incorporated them into every professional setting possible. It’s the fastest way to disarm.

Hiring your friends

I love my friends. They’re so talented and cute. It‘s dog eat dog out there. We gotta take care of each other. Plus, the .05% are helpless and my friends are super skilled.

Mom and pop hardware stores

They’re always stocked with products that last and are vetted. No looking at online reviews. The clerk who appears and disappears out of nowhere will help you find the niche cleaning product that they’ve been using for 30 plus years. I feel safe and held.
