i just got this perfume tester and the lady put "enjoy :)" on a little note inside the bag. people also put "thanks for buying!" in my online thrift purchase bags all the time, so i started doing the same on all my secondhand items sold online :D
it feels a little more personal, and there's so much kindness in the world that goes unsaid otherwise. i warmly recommend leaving kind little notes for others
on my old car i used to have a bumper sticker that said βi hope you have a good dayβ on it. one day i came out of the grocery store and someone had left a note on my car on a sheet of paper from their notebook that said βi hope YOU have a good day!β i think about the person that went out of their way to leave that note a lot and hope that they know how sweet that was. i kept the note and put it in my junk journal/scrapbook and when iβm having a bad day i like to look at it.
I do little love notes, like a little short sentence on a tiny paper and hide it somewhere the person might find randomly. Like in their make up bag, in the fridge, under the tab for the Oreo container etc
i feel like a massive hypocrite writing this, but im gonna be honest..
the past year i've been constantly listening to/watching youtube videos and ig reels in order to fill the silence. just loads and loads of useless information and empty talks.
last night i realized that doing so has been keeping me from thinking about stuff, listening to music and in general, being productive. i was filling my head with useless noise so i wouldn't think. it ended up being a comfortable bubble of bullshit that was hard to break out of. today i stopped the video, grabbed my notes of things i want to DO and played some music in the background. felt much better. i might relapseβ i have many times, but im tired of being a vertically scrolling thumb (again).
i used to ride my bicycle/take public transport all the time, but walking is really good actually! it slows down the wildness of modern life, shows you small things you would otherwise drive past. its all around a good idea if you have time to spare of course. great for calming down, thinking, good for relieving stress, good for meeting new people
in a world of automatic AI translation and a lack of humanity in digital spaces, i find it refreshing to see evidence that text was indeed typed by a human - someone who makes mistakes and that's okay. i was just browsing a localized version of a website and noticed a word misspelled and for once i didn't feel annoyed, but happy
