A lost art that many seem to overdo. You really have to find the right balance. Picking the perfect moment to show your partner “hey, I’m here, I luh you“ can be a beautiful thing when done correctly.
With everything you do. Write a love letter, make someone something sweet, show up with a boombox outside someone's window blasting In Your Eyes, buy someone flowers, do something meaningful, go on a spontaneous trip with someone, tell someone you are thinking about them, look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself how wonderful you think you are, read a poem, get lost on the dancefloor, listen to a good song, smile at something tender, listen to Sleepy Lagoon by the platters...the possibilities are endless, you should try it sometime...
sometimes when i’m down in the dumps, i think of the love i am surrounded by. whether it be when my friends and i are in stitches over a crank that turns a box into a speaker and pretending to be in a music video. or being engulfed in that long needed tight hug from someone who brings you peace. i also think of another way love was shown. my dad proudly sharing that he thinks that i made a dish better than he makes it. which blew my mind because i think my dad is the best chef in the universe. so it was a big i love you but just hidden because he is an old asian man🙄 anyways, those moments remind me love and hope for the days.
Don’t be that person. Mf got a banana and a Celsius, something is going down and they need to make a quick exit. You got mad vegetables anyway, let the cashier breathe a little before they struggle to remember how to ring up them green onions you copping.
Nothing better than giving someone a little squeeze to show them you got them. It’s always great when someone can sense that you need it and add a little something to the hug. Don’t settle for a dap. Get in there.
I have no context at all but I love it. Feels like I’m missing out but that’s alright it’s just good to hear somebody having a big ol belly laugh and enjoying this shit while we’re breathing.
