πpersonally I am really shit with birthdays and i forget to wish people them, so for my new years resolution last year I said I would buy a present for each of my friends birthdays to make up for it.
It was a constant looming anxiety throughout the year but I feel very happy by the end that I completed it. I wonβt be doing it next year, but maybe I will in 3 or so yearsβ time!!

πI read somewhere to treat your birthday as a day of how you'd like to see the rest of your year going - meaning - fill it with activities you'd see yourself doing in future. So every birthday now, I do stuff like; going to the florist's, eating a fresh loaf of garlic bread etc. etc.
Last birthday I accompanied a friend to a jewellers', she wanted to adjust a bracelet, I wanted to be around shiny things. I learnt about the silver market, got a discount for my friend and tried on lots of pieces for the heck of it. Also went to a buffet later, unscheduled. In the mundane, there are always beautiful moments.

πThat day right before your birthday is a good one, lots of self-reflecting thought, thinking about yourself and your character, finding *what* you need to do for self-improvement. Than just completely forget all that stuff and party until that midnight hour strikes πΊ
