Every time Spotify‘s algorithm hits a wall in terms of giving me new music, I use this site to look for new releases but I specifically look at artists who‘s music I haven’t heard before or if I’m feeling super experimental I’ll only look Into genres I've never heard of or barely know. I highly recommend this, it’s a fun way to discover new artists and music in general🤩 Music roamer is also a goated way of finding artists similar to your faves https://www.musicroamer.com (use the desktop version)

RYM is an iconic website, but my favorite part is their genre and sub-genre list which is EXTENSIVE. I like to choose a random sub-genre then listen to all the top rated albums in said genre. Super fun way to find stuff. Aquarium Drunkard is a great blog/radio/podcast. Their website will send you into a very beautiful rabbit hole of music you’ve likely never heard before. I found an old favorite Miki Hirayama via AD-plus the band/artist interviews are great.

Lee Moon-Sae has some great anthems in the korean ballad genre (basically just really cheesy synthpop with instrumentals that sound like karaoke). He’s got these amazingly passionate vocals on all of his tracks and despite the language barrier, there’s always moments where I feel his energy and understand him. This record is my favorite. As for folk music, which has got to be my favorite genre, I’ve been a fan of what Minhwi Lee has been putting out recently, especially their record Hometown to Come. Their voice is beautiful — great music for lounging around or a nice rainy day. Whenever! One more: some great K-pop from Yukika. Contagious energy and some cathartic dance jams. Hope you find something cool in these recs!

great and extremely bittersweet folk music recorded on TAPE so you have that really rich and hissy sound. ⭐️ put this on while you’re doing chores and it will make it you feel worthwhile and comfortable I guarantee it best tracks: donut seam, sadness as a gift, ruined
