im only ~2 hours from totality so like of course i cannot miss this celestial opportunity!!! currently making plans and requesting time off. if ur even like 5 hours away or less i think u should go all the way to get to totality. it is so special. dont forget to account for traffic when estimating travel plans
The fact that the moon appears to perfectly cover the sun during an eclipse is an insane coincidence of time and space that doesn't happen on other planets. If you live within driving distance of the path of totality you can see it happen on April 8! It's the last American solar eclipse until 2044! Just be prepared for horrendous traffic.
I am changed. I totally understand why people travel miles and miles for 3 minutes of totality. The most beautiful, strange, and wondrous thing Iโve ever seen. Iโm getting choked up just thinking about it.
I think itโs endearing that so many are traveling this week to see the eclipse better...2024 is about embracing mystery/divinity/your sense of childlike wonder ๐ฎ
