My last name is really long and often kind of unwieldy, if I call someone on the phone, itโs guaranteed they ask to spell it, so I drop the suffix and that makes things easier. That, and it โs my handle/name used for writing elsewhere.
My full name is egregiously long and I always hated the way it looked in signatures so I shortened it and wrote it out probably like 50-100 times until I figured out what I wanted to do and how I wanted to stylize it
