I did it this morning, meditated, read a short story, watched the sun rise, and then got to work!

I love rec'ing this after like a day of doing it but I legit feel better than I have in months... the sheer act of being able to get out of bed & work out & meditate & watch the sunrise... that's what life is all about baby

I was doing this for a while every morning but I've been so tired lately that I've been sleeping in and then have to rush to get ready for work... ...reading a book (not on my screen) would be nice to start my morning with, too!

i had to force myself to stop my night owl ways when i started my summer job, and honestly, waking up at 5 am helped me go to sleep earlier without having to force myself. also, not many people know this, but if you wake up early enough, it’s still dark and you can just tell your brain it’s nighttime! you also get to still be up when most people aren’t, but you get to watch the sunrise

This is specifically for NYC people. In Ridgewood Queens there is a hole in the wall high quality chocolate shop. It’s run by an eccentric and amazing man named Constantine and his wife. He will talk your ear off for a half an hour about ā€œthe benefitsā€ of chocolate and how it’s a panacea for pretty much everything. How big chocolate gives away most of the cocoa butter to the cosmetic industry. He’ll also talk to you about how he asks ChatGPT about chocolate and it’s wrong a lot of the time. You’ll then buy a bar even though it’s small and $10. But you will go home and have a little piece after dinner and never taste chocolate the same way again…

If we click on a rec or ask to comment, like I'm doing now, it would be great that when I go back, it doesn't send me back to the top of the page but rather to the place where I was scrolling previously.

I quit my job at the beginning of this year. Infinitely lighter, happier. I still have some residual health things, but they are improving. Especially having savings, it's much easier, which I was lucky enough to have in my scenario too. The hardest thing for me has just been the feeling of idleness with a paycheck not coming in regularly, but I just remind myself how much better the rest of my life is... and I'm ok. :)
