I recently got back into cycling as a way of commuting around my neighbourhood. But when I'm feeling heavy or stuck, I just go off to find a set of wheels, and try to cycle from Point A to a known Point B in the least useful way possible. Walking is another way to do that, but the speed of the bike is exhilarating hahaha Another thing is putting on music I used to listen to as a teenager. It really does bring my mood back up! Hopefully some of this is helpful 🦋

Usually my rut gets less rutty after a mile. Sometimes just listening to music during does the trick, but ideating while walking (doing a fair share of internal discussion and thinking about what the thing could sound like / say) gets me back into “my voice.” And I keep my Notes app handy, so come that mile-point, if any of my talking to myself was fruitful, it gets documented.

I love to walk around by myself. It makes me feel limitless. Naturally, I'm drawn to the musician who bears witness to their city. Two classics that come to mind are Lou Reed and Joni Mitchell. A record I've had on repeat lately is Allegra Kreiger's I Keep my Feet on a Fragile Plane. It's full of onthestreet reflections. "A Place For It to Land" and "Low" kill me; it's an album for the lonely flaneur in all of us.

This is what I call it hahahah made by mums everywhere but the greased up version is sold along stalls in Mumbai. Two regular slices of white bread, buttered, and the middle filling is cream cheese with red onions, coriander/cilantro, tomatoes and some minced chillis. All veggies chopped mini cube size so they blend with the cheese. Toasted crispy.
