Would it not be dreamy if all of the common pigeons living in our urban hellscapes were replaced with these lovely relatives?
I’m not sure how closely related they need to be to cross-bred but if it’s possible I’m getting my (ethical) bird net and making this my life’s mission.

I'm partial to the classic Rock Dove style but look at their range! So many colors, shapes, frills. On the way home from the allergist this morning I saw three pigeons bathing in a dirty puddle. They're just out here scraping by like the rest of us.

pigeons evolved to roost in rocky outcroppings, which makes them perfectly adapted to city life. a domesticated pigeon will freak out if you give em a brick to stand on because it reminds them of home 🥲
