It’s always exciting to see a big figure in menswear decide to work with a ‘smaller’ brand than a huge fashion house. Aaron Levine is helping to make accessible + good clothing available for guys. In a world where the entryway to menswear is locked up and protected by Our Legacy Camión boots and NN.07 jackets, it’s nice to see someone care about creating something that’s within reach for everyone. 13 minute write-up linked about, but if you're a guy you should be interested in what is happening at Madewell Men's department under the helm of Aaron Levine. The mix of intentionally thought out design + accessibility make for a great choice for anyone looking to wade into the menswear pool. There used to be a huge wall in the #menswear world that kept you on the outside if you couldn’t afford a certain brand or if it was so limited that you’d have to resort to resell prices — that’s no longer the case here. Anyone can enter into the cult thanks to the products Aaron & company are putting out.
Malls may be dying, but Madewell Men's sure does make a case for getting in your car and taking a drive. (And if you're a girl dating a guy who needs help getting dressed, you can now trick him into spending time with you at Madewell: a win-win for all.)
Follow-up question: Would a revival of mall brands led by industry pros make you more willing to head back to malls as opposed to just shop online?

Nothing mind blowing but I’m so biased at how much I love Alexa + her style. I’m sure part of it is she’s…almost ‘built’ to wear what she does (?) but she pulls it off really well. The emphasis on denim and suede together is really well done and I think anything you manage to get from here will be wearable forever.

I feel like there’s a special connectivity on this app that I haven’t felt in a long time, maybe since early 2010’s tumblr. The fact that you can’t promote yourself like IG is wonderful. The fact that there isn’t mass video content like Tik Tok is great. It’s not this monetized / paid sponsorship app. People are here because they want to be a part of something with nothing to gain besides friendship. Seeing the URL -> IRL meetups warms my heart so much (waiting for an NYC or Brooklyn meetup).
Thanks for your participation on this niche little app. I smile reading all the recs and all the comments and all the asks. Hope we’ll all be here for a long time.

I think a life rule for me is to surround myself with people who know more / are smarter / are cooler than me and just absorb their aura by listening / observing them. It’s made me the incredibly smart / cool person you all know and love.
I just never thought I’d feel the same way about URL friends. I’m constantly listening to the songs I see posted here, reading the articles, subbing to newsletters, and googling topics that get tossed onto the feed.
It’s nice to know you can become a more rounded person by just absorbing what your mutuals post on here. I’m going to sit on my couch, have a cocktail and digest my lovely feed. Happy Sunday!
