The context is Mark Henry (the wrestler) was caught on a hot mike saying Kairi didn’t respect the business by staying in a wrestling ring way too long for his liking at WrestleMania XL Saturday, which is…weird, as I feel people (on and offline) weren’t thinking about a woman staying too long in a wrestling ring before a match was a bad thing. Back to whatever I can post of my Kabuki Warriors watch. (Watching Raw after WrestleMania, so I might be engrossed in that.)

The original tweet celebrated the Kabuki Warriors returning as a tag team to SmackDown. This person deleted their tweet (it's been screenshotted; the quote tweet read "It's funny because women don't act in Kabuki plays" and Asuka says It’s funny because "Not that Kabuki.

We know more about Japanese culture than you do."
I'm amazed I missed this a few months ago.

Raw Talk these days is a show hosted remotely in a studio with interviews done remotely. But in 2020 Raw Talk was a show filmed at the Performance Center with guests literally sitting beside the hosts. It also was a time where few Raw Talk episode highlights made YouTube, hence only a summary here. At the end of the July 13, 2020 episode of Raw Talk, the Kabuki Warriors talk about their recent loss to Sasha Banks and Bayley and have hope that Asuka can beat Sasha Banks at Extreme Rules. Kairi expresses a desire to face Asuka for the Raw Women’s Championship (this never happens, alas). The episode ends with Kairi playing the Kabuki Warriors theme (ā€œWarriorsā€) on her recorder. Speaking of, this is probably the last time Kairi is seen playing a recorder as she hasn’t brought it back for her second STARDOM or second WWE runs (as opposed to her wagashi, for example). A clip of the episode that isn’t a remixed version of Kairi playing the recorder (as seen on YouTube) can be clicked on above.

I’ll tell you this upfront: I’m not a fan of the IIconicsā€˜ commentary here. They mispronounce Kairi’s name intentionally. Don’t know if it’s creative directing them to do this or not, but I don’t find it funny at all. Baffled but not surprised that the reference I’m using to track all these Kabuki Warriors appearances actually finds the IIconics’ name calling endearing and not limiting. Aside from being cowardly heels the only other weapon they had was name-calling. Disappointing.
That said, this match is a local talent match. The Kabuki Warriors win before the IIconics scream at them. Nothing more, nothing less. But this match is notable for featuring Queen Aminata, an African-born wrestler who is now signed to All Elite Wrestling.

Since all of this is not on YouTube.
On this episode of SmackDown the Tokyo tour dates are recapped, complete with footage of the Kabuki Warriors winning against the IIconics in Tokyo.
A backstage segment (linked here) follows where Paige and the Kabuki Warriors confront the IIconics for the title shot they were promised. The IIconics delay the title match. The segment ends with face manager Paige slapping Billie Kay.

IIconics (champions) vs. Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville vs. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross vs. Kabuki Warriors.
* Mandy Rose rolls up Billie Kay for a pin, eliminating the IIconics. * Asuka submits Rose with the Asuka Lock, eliminating Rose and Deville. * Nikki pushes Kairi off the turnbuckle, leaving her susceptible to a punch (forearm?) by Bliss as Paige watches. Bliss hits Twisted Bliss, win titles.

There is a recap of Asuka and Nia's feud up until the last episode of Raw. The commentators feel Asuka may not be focused because of everything that has happened to her over the past few weeks. They think Nia is "arrogant."
Nia dominates the match early but Asuka is able to counter with submissions. Nia counters with a jackhammer. She says "Where's Kairi" which enrages Asuka. Asuka fights back with kicks. Nia attempts to pin Asuka but fails.
An Asuka armbar pushes Nia outside of the ring. They never make it back to the ring. Asuka tries another armbar attempt outside the ring. Asuka kicks Nia as both are counted out. After hitting a hip attack, Asuka takes her title and leaves.
