sometimes I have to have to have to tell someone something (I’m having a feeling, I have a recommendation, I have been pondering etc etc) but can’t be fucked having a convo right then. sending the email lets me get my thought out, lets the person know there is no time pressure, and encourages me to think thoughts longer than one sentence. also super fun to play with tone

Art criticism has its place but nothing stinks more than recommending a movie to someone and them saying ā€œbut it has a low IMDB ratingā€ā€¦ maybe it’s just ahead of its time. maybe it’s misunderstood. Maybe it’s perfectly low brow.
