“The People in the Trees” is incredible. If you like a good mystery and/or have even a passing interest in the field of anthropology, I highly recommend. Yanagihara invokes a creeping sense of dread from the outset, with its momentum only building and building. Incredible debut that was eclipsed (hehe) by the self-indulgent extended character study that is “A Little Life”
NYC, drama, hope and wistfulness in one majestically written Magnus opum. Whole life story of four friends and their entanglements. First book that actually shook me to tears and laughter. Cannnot recommend enough. Those characters stayed with me for a very long time.
by Hanya Yanagihara a true tragedy in the classic sense it’s so depressing that i like… don’t even know if i’d recommend it. but since you specifically asked.. let me know if you read it and need someone to talk to lol
