It is getting tougher to slip out and enjoy the champions league but the South American equivalent is on weekday evenings. The quality of football is good, the venues interesting and fans exciting. The tournament has helped me get over my sense of loss of UCL. Worth a look and you can impress your football hipster buddies.

Listen I know they messed it up now, but catching mid weekday big money international fixtures is still unstoppable.

I don’t enjoy working. It takes up too much of my time. In college I could watch champions league matches in class, a utopia I didn’t know I had. Now working, a joy of mine is listening to games on the clock. No one can stop me from enjoying the beautiful game!!! It’s also fun to imagine what’s happening and then frantically open your phone to see the goal happen. Coys and Hala Madrid

This is a cookbook with no recipes that will teach you how to cook everything. It covers everything there is to know about food -- from how it was discovered, how man changed it, how it is grown, how it is harvested and how to prepare and cook it. It dramatically changed my cooking life.

I spent most of my life thinking they were cat food at best. But I visited Clydes one day for bivalves and martinis and tried their new conservas menu. Now I am watching tinned fish reviews and eating all kinds of sardines.

Travel is about getting along with strangers. Being kind and generous tends to pay off 10x. Also never book a connecting flight if at all possible. Takeoff and landing are your only points of failure don’t multiply them.
