This is a fantastic movie All the discourse surrounding it is exhausting it’s a fictional movie about war photographers and the tragedies of war and it is not a warning or ā€œthis will actually happen if we don’t fix thingsā€ movie Kirsten Dunst is obviously great but Cailee Spaeny is the standout for me she is just so fucking good (can’t wait for alien Romulus that is going to be so cool) The soundtrack is insane and songs play over the most harrowing shit you’ve ever seen that you would never think to put over those scenes but it works so so well See it in imax if you can the gunfire is deafening and shocking and it is a great looking movie too (the incorporation of the photography throughout is incredible) Anyone from DC or the surrounding area will be weirded out or at least I was seeing insane combat in the streets of dc and in the White House/lincoln memorial/Washington monument but it made it even more impactful for me

really good if you are able to look past the low letterboxd score (and your politics)

i despise war movies. i don’t understand them and i don’t WANT to understand them. but something about the single-take style, the harsh lightning of a flare gun through the smoke, the overpowering score (the score!!! the score) benedict cumberbatch quoting lana del rey during the 20 seconds he’s onscreen, or george mckay’s innocent little face running through a battalion of soldiers (no, no, its definitely the score) it gets me every time man. hope is a dangerous thing

Perfectly executed, believable near-future apocalyptic (which is the best genre IMO) story that’s really bleak on its premise but then also a hopeful story. Acting is great, aesthetic is great, soundtrack is great, story is great, cinematography is really great. Above all, it has great rewatch potential and is memorable, which is my top criteria for movie recs because I can’t recommend a movie I don’t remember.

Peaches, plums, nectarines, cherries, etc. It’s mind blowing that something so nice can be naturally occurring Just beautiful fruits (look at these plums) and just so delicious even when they’re not technically in season I could (and do) eat five peaches a day Also peach cobbler! Haven’t heard of it but need to try plum cobbler I feel like that’d be crazy

😃
I got a humidifier at target cause it’s getting dry and that’s something I would typically overlook but for some reason I remembered the spongebob humidifier my parents used to always put in my room and I thought about how many things just for like comfort or health that I stopped doing that were just like everyday things my parents did when I was a kid

for the most part every movie I see, book I read, meal I eat, album I listen to, place I travel to is the greatest thing I’ve ever experienced (Maybe it just means I’m easy to please but I don’t mind because it leads to many enjoyable experiences!)
