The thing that helped me most was just focusing on moisturizing and absolutely not listening to dermotologists who tried to dry out my skin - I love the kana lavender sleeping mask and serum as well as anything from big wood farms. I also use this mask once a week and that helps keep me clear and makes me feel like a special princess.

Taking care of my skin has boosted my confidence more than anything ever has. Right now my nighttime routine is wash my face with Bobbi Brown soothing cleansing oil, curolgy, retinal, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, the ole henrikson undereye cream, and triple antibiotic ointment. My morning routine is washing my face with Sonya Dakar gentle facial milk cleanser, spray my face with Osea sea mineral mist, Osea hyaluronic sea serum, Sonya Dakar nano hydrator moisturizer and Sonya Dakar SPF 30. If I go outside a lot I use 50 spf. I had cystic acne when I was younger and Curology really changed my skin. It completely cleared it up. I’m so grateful for it. When I was younger I tried absolutely everything. Salt water, mouth wash, that nuetrogena face wash with the micro plastics in it. Nothing really worked until Curology. I also take Tri-Sprintec birth control because it is the most effective at clearing your skin. If I have a break out I take Doxycycline which is an antibiotic that stops acne from forming. It’s been a lot of work and not easy but I’m so happy I did it. I love face masks too. My favorite is Blue Tansy from Herbivore. It’s a nice exfoliator that really changes your skin. I notice a big difference with it. I also love sheet masks. Innis Free has my favorites. They just feel so effective to me. A nice evening to me is staying in and taking care of my skin. I love to steam my face, do an exfoliating face mask, then a pore cleaning one and then a moisturizing one. Then I do an eye mask and all of my skincare steps. It feels so good and I look amazing when I wake up.

I also have v dry, irritated skin and the way I have dealt with it is using a moisturiser that has a bit of hydrochloric acid in its formula, I use one from Garnier. it’s meant to be a night cream so it’s more heavy duty. I also use Vaseline in really dry spots and a rose water spray.
Paula’s Choice have products that specialise in dry skin and it worked great for me. In terms of something more natural, the girlies say aloe vera oil is a great option, you can mix some into your moisturiser.
But the one thing that did it for me was when I stopped using so many products. I don’t know what it was maybe I was mixing things wrong or overloading my skin but I only use an oil cleanser, a peptide serum and a moisturiser now. skin is doing a lot better.

Harpo is very sweet and loves all people but is very particular about dogs and always wants to be the center of attention. He listens perfectly if treats are involved but otherwise is not very interested in what we want. He was found wandering the streets of Bakersfield (we decided he was too small to be named Buck) and now he is a bougie Silver Lake pup and has his own set of friends and admirers in the neighborhood.
Laemmle was found crying in a hole all alone on a cold and rainy night Just outside of LA’s Chinatown. When she was a baby she was a demon about any food, especially butter, but now she is perfect and sweet and loves to sit in your lap in purr. She kills and eats bugs so we never have to worry about them. (Lem-lee)

This is annoying advice but love has always come to me when I’m not looking for it. When I get very active in things I’m passionate about (usually leftie organizing but also art and history stuff and also just spending time with friends a la the friends of friends rec) I meet new people and find interesting, aligned folks.
