like jr mints and popcorn / other such combos... a nice working from home lunch: progresso minestrone soup, but first take a bite of a baby carrot. then take a bite of some sharp cheddar cheese THEN a spoonful of soup. together? a mix of textures and temperatures that is truly divine (If you're an insane 7 year old and apparently i am)
maybe you will like my charcuterie board* breakfast, which is:
- boiled eggs (while i prefer a soft yolk, i have heard a hard boiled egg is safest to prevent bird flu?)
- toasted bread w/ butter (or spread of choice)
- cheese !!! some kind of cheese that u cut up and enjoy ( i prefer a sharp white cheddar)
- APPLES !!! can be subbed out for a different fruit but crunchy slightly sweet apples pair perfectly with a sharp cheese
- crunchy grapes are an approved substitution
- have a beverage! i like orange juice.
*u just eat this in a large enough quantity that it is filling and its important to maximize flavor combos: have the yolk of the boiled egg w/ your sharp cheddar, a refreshing bite of an apple slice right after a bit of the toasted buttery bread.
the real event of all this is timing; it takes less than 10 minutes to boil an egg, and within that time you must also toast your bread, let the butter from the fridge soften for spreading, slice your apples, slice the cheese, prepare a bowl of cold water for your boiled eggs…
and your toasted bread should still be warm when you eat it so you must do that last. i suppose i have been looking for an outlet to pilot this idea… open to feedback
ri0la perfect plan - 10/10!! i love thinking about how meal structures from lunch or dinner can translate to breakfast. for example what is a breakfast soup (in America anyway, obvs lots of other cultures have straight up soup for breakfast and that is wonderful!!) -- is it oatmeal?? or ...
this is the superior lunch choice. sodium intake for the day complete. chicken noodle and cape cod chips?!? beautiful, effective, 2000s tuscan kitchen core.
with Ruffles baked sour cream & cheddar chips for dipping (or a grilled cheese ofc) --makes me feel like a little little kid who's spent a snow day building forts in the backyard
