A 90s rock band during witch season is a MUST MUST MUST. I love The Sundays specifically albums Reading, Writing And Arithmetic and Static & Silence. This and a chamomile tea on an October afternoon in a small town on the east coast? Yeah. That’s the dream.

These two albums are always there for me when I’m feeling down. I know Sling gets quite a bit of hate, but I find it to have some of the best lyrics ever written. It’s the first album to ever make me cry! This album made me fall in love with Claire’s music. It has continued to be the album I go to when I am experiencing difficult things. Static & Silence (along with the other two records by the Sundays) have stuck with me in ways I did not expect. I first heard their music during the pandemic and since then, they have been the backdrop for my life up until this point. I could talk about them All Day!!

perfect from start to finish, i probably listen to the album in its entirety maybe once a month. and at the beginning of spring and the beginning of fall…boy, do i run that album into the ground. but never do i tire of it. more contemporary runners up include heaven knows- pink pantheress and i love my mom by indigo de souza.

Or anything Powell and Pressburger really Black Narcissus is a once-banned British psychological drama revolving around the growing tensions amongst a group of angelical nuns who’ve been relocated to the Himalayan mountains. Banned due to its sexual inferences and potentially offensive portrayal of religious figures. I love movies with monastic themes and the coloring in this film is otherworldly. Highly recommend The Red Shoes and A Matter of Life and Death as well!

Ling Ma made me enjoy reading again It is in the most surreal situations that a person feels the most present, the closest to reality. Themes include alienated women in bizarre circumstances, husbands speaking in $$$$, yeti lovemaking, immigration, ancient burial rituals, and so much more

ethereal electronic folk pop music from the Austin raised artist Quiet Light, who I came across via Ana Roxanne’s hub on nina protocol (independent artist streaming platform) perhaps the highlight of my week
