From their 1985 album, Love. Been listening to that record a lot and it’s got a lot of great songs on it, but Black Angel is a stunning way to end the album.

The unbelievably weird album from experimental rock pioneers The Velvet Underground. Seriously, it’s weird. And a tough listen. But with that comes some seriously genius avant-garde noise rock jams and is a total trip from start to finish. 9.5/10 Listen if you like: The Velvet Underground & Nico Experimental Rock Avant-Garde Music

Was watching a track star tik tok where this got played and they talked about it being one of the earliest metal songs and it’s been on repeat since. As well as most of the white album and some Black Sabbath.

I looooove this song, always have. Robert Smith snapped and they recorded some pure exotic, sinister, and cinematic vibe concentrate here. It’s not the typical Cure dark and kinda sadsack longing style, this actually feels like it has some danger and menacing to it and it makes it what it is!

Finally watched this very 90s Toronto film. Didn’t know how much I would like this one… but starting with a Leonard Cohen song early on definitely got me. It’s got a real weird feeling to it and kinda got that Lynchian style to it - so if you’re into a kinda weird, 90s, sexy style, check it out!
