My parents got married at this naval chapel that's on the former nuclear naval base in Vallejo, CA. It's made of redwood and packed with Tiffany stained glass windows and it's just a fucking cool, weird place that you'd never expect to be there.
Not religious myself, but I’m a big fan of the architecture and quiet gardens surrounding it. The chapel itself was closed when I visited, and the glass walls acted as an uncanny barrier between myself and what seemed a space frozen in time—both separate and joined to the world outside of it. — Frank Loyd Wright Jr.‘s glass walled chapel, enshrouded by trees and flowers. I grew up Episcopal. This is the largest Episcopal church in the world. I like it. It’s really big. The street next to it is named Cathedral Parkway. That’s a cool street name. Second only to Fell Street in San Francisco.
Climbed a 6 foot wall to take this photo through the side of the building, and almost broke my ankle on the way down. B) — Interior of Wayfarers Chapel, touched by dappled sunlight. Photo shot on Kodak Retina Reflex.
