I think some people are snobs yes but really art is so very personal and when you know you work well with someone you do want to stay with them :( It really sucks but donβt give up!! There are nice people, Iβve found some of the nicest people at art events.
i hang out with artists and artsy people and it honestly shocked me when i realised just how socially awkward most of them are. in my experience like outside of their art, making conversation is so difficult because they're so in their heads and so self conscious. they probably want to make friends too but genuinely they are that awkward lol ive found the best way to make them talk is to say outrageous hot takes or share a weird kooky interest of yours and be like 25% more extroverted
Concerts, restaurants, movies, comedy shows, sporting events...whatever you're into.
I'd rather to ride solo and smiling than bring someone along that's doesn't have the shared interest. Or worse - missing out.
