Miranda July is so alive and it shows in her writing. The metal bowl is an all time fave, as is her first novel the first bad man. Mary Gaitskill is a beast. Scary. Alice Munro—she has about a million collections of short stories, all amazing, methodical, domestic. The Lives of Girls and Women is a good place to start Toddler Hunting by Taeko Kono is kinky like an empty street in the burbs.
