super contemplative and atomospheric animated feature about a group of students at an Chinese arts academy. itβs a really conversation driven movie that contemplates the philosophy of art making, pedagogy, tradition and connection. I really loved it! It has so much thoughtful dialogue to chew on without feeling pretentious, and a flat animation style that feels so nostalgic. wish I could have watched it when I was 20 and in art school and thought I knew everything.
