I always loved Julia so much. An inappropriate amount. Eight years old and thinking I love her I love her I love her. This book is all I could've wanted and more. Newman writes trauma (and traumatized sexuality, traumatized friendship, traumatized moment to moment, traumatized day by day) better than almost anyone I've read. No soulless reboot or IP pandering here. Simply storytelling. Love for the work and love for women. Julia was always real to me and I'm so grateful.
Nothing like decompressing from a stressful work week with a delicious romance novel. The cuteness, the angst, the swooning, the SPICE, the delusion it evokes from deep within your body will perform an incomparable spiritual rejuvenation. This weekend’s romance is Courting Samira by Amal Awad!
