Woah why is everybody sleeping on this what a great movie. Deranged, existentialist a la Shallow Grave or Blood Simple. Skip Challengers the tennis is bad watch Rotting in the Sun and pick up a copy of The Trouble with Being Born. I now have a crush on both Silva brothers. TW: a lot of dicks.

Honestly bro I had no idea wtf was going on in ts but the wardrobe was A1 and scene locations were mad cool. It also is the same dude who did Possession, ik a lot of you mfs on this app like that one. Starring Romy Schneider of ā€œLa Piscineā€ fame, also features a sleazed out performance by Klaus Kinski, it’s ab a photographer who likes some actress but her sherm bf is unhinged and manipulating her idk I got tired of reading subtitles. Overall itā€˜s a great movie to watch if you want to take a picture of ur screen to throw on ur IG story to make ppl think ur mad esoteric and knowledgeable ab late 20th century European cinema.

British coming of age film set in a grimy bathhouse. A cautionary tale about being obsessed with a really hot girl who’s older than you. Beautiful, unsettling and so underrated. David Lynch said in an interview in 1982: ā€œthere's never been a colour movie I've freaked out over except one, this thing calledĀ Deep Endā€œ

Mrs. Dalloway: a classic and a masterpiece. It’s a love story. The baron in the trees: weird and allegorical. A boy goes up into the trees and never comes down. Memoirs of Hadrian: the only historical fiction I’ve ever loved. Published by a French woman in the 50s after a decades long obsession with the project. The last samurai: by Helen Dewitt unrelated to the Tom Cruise movie of the same name. A totally original story about the life of the mind. Family lexicon: a spare memoir/novel about growing up in an anti-fascist family during the rise of Mussolini. Remains of the day: how does Kazuo Ishiguro do it? He also wrote Klara and the sun rec’d above. Ending is wow. More: East of Eden, Middlemarch, The things they carried, Close to the knives, Giovanni’s room, Just kids, The Road, The myth of Sisyphus
