i love the feeling of getting up and having a productive morning, even if just that productivity is getting up, getting dressed, and going for a nice lil walk. my job forcibly turned me into a morning person but i’m enjoying it!

a couple years ago my friend would make plans with me ~9-10am and we'd stop hanging out at 2 and go "holy shit there's like, a whole day left" even though we'd already been going for four or five hours which would not feel true if we started at say, 11-12 recently have been trying this new thing where i shift my working hours forward so i'm online from 7-3 or even 8-4 instead of 9-5 and it's similarly liberating; it's just rewarding to take back your own time a little bit and feel like "because i woke up earlier there's more time in my day"

I’ve struggled with sleep maintenance my whole adult life and have been working PST jobs from the East Coast for years now, so both naturally hopeless and lacking your standard external motivators to be conscious in the “single digits.” I actively want to change this so that I have time to myself in the morning to read/exercise/just chill since I work later into the night, but has never been something I can consistently rewrite. In any case, I have the luxury to drink coffee and read for a bit in bed before starting my work day, but wow if I master mornings I’d have hours…
