going to see challengers on my own today! and i'm very excited. i'm someone who actually doesn't mind going to the cinema alone. i've done it so many times over the years, and totally do not get people who say it's sad. if i lived somewhere where i could go to late night screenings on my own, i would do it all the time.
sometimes i end up making a friend, sometimes i just get to sit and get sucked in and then i get to leave and choose my favorite place to eat. it's a nice way to spend a day on your own, and i think more people (especially people in their 20s) should take themselves on little dates.

omg i never get ppl who think going to the movies alone is sad!!! to me it's a solitary activity, not like ur gonna turn to them and talk during the movie (at least u shouldnt!!) and besides, there's something beautiful about taking urself out on a date of any kind and enjoying spending time on ur own + treating urself :)

forevercherry honestly never got it either! i only learned people thought it was sad when i was in high school. i love a group movie going too and the tiniest whispering to each other, but it's also really nice to be able to sit by yourself and take it all in and maybe even have your favorite snacks.

lindslove totally agree! i love having company but it's also not something i need. if i want to go to a specific restaurant and i have no one to go with, i'll go on my own! it's nice even. sometimes i just sit and read and then go home on my own time :)

plurkmurk right! It’s freeing to know that you don’t need a companion to do everything with. Like band in town you wanna see? no one to go with? no problem!

May not sound particularly exciting, but there is something about picking a film you want to see, going by yourself, and then getting to walk home by yourself just mulling it over in your head. My favourite solo date activity!

i get why people only think of movies as a social event, but seeing a movie in a theater alone is the most freeing and therapeutic thing that i do in my day to day life. gone are the moments of trying to pick something that you think a group of people would like. gone is the anxiety of always thinking about what your friend is thinking of the movie as it’s going on. it’s just you and the movie. i love it

the experience of taking yourself on a solo date to the movies is the ultimate (relatively healthy) escape - you almost begin to exist in your own world. the drive home in silence as you deconstruct your own feelings, and not to mention not having to share the popcorn⭐️

if i had a comfort sitcom, this would be it :,) sadly it only has two short seasons, so i've seen every episode at least 10 times. (if you're going to watch it, make sure to look up the right episode order because it aired out of order.)
when i'm at a loss for what i want to watch, i put it on. somehow despite having seen it a bajillion times, the gags still land. there's also something so inherently 2000s about it with its slightly outdated jokes and energy that i find charming. it's the same way i feel about 2 broke girls. it's just fun hjinks with people who are kind of messed up!!!

to me figs smell like summer. i love fig scents, especially if they smell a bit more green than fruity. my favorite perfume smells a bit like the green-ness(?) but also fresh, clean dirt after the rain. if not fig, i am very much a sandalwood person or blackcurrant one. i like smelling nice but not necessarily floral. :)

i'm pretty sure i'm far from the first to say this, but holy shit. what a movie! i think i sat in the movie theater with my jaw dropped for a big chunk of it. electric, and crackling with tension- both in terms of relationships and the tennis court. some old school 90s sexiness and sexual metaphors, with beautiful shots and impeccable chemistry. just 10s all around for me. i think it's also a perfect movie to watch on a sweaty, sweltering summer day with some lemonade and auntie anne's pretzels (which i did) can't wait to see it again.
also i'm obsessed with apparently the notes for the score being "unending homoerotic desire" uhhh yeah! i got that
