I took a driving course last year after years of being terrified of it (and I actually became quite confident at it!!), but then I stopped practicing, and now I don't feel confident enough to take the test... I know I would become unstoppable if I had my license, so you're inspiring me to get back on it ...........

flat_white I was also really scared of driving, and tbh I’m still a lil scared of it and get nervous everytime I do, but when I do it it makes my life so much better
Am personally extremely intimidated by:
1) The cost/time expense of preparing for the UK driving test (seems like easily £400+? Tho I hear you on rail expenses)
2) Actually taking a driving test that — unlike most of the US — has significantly more stringent requirements than "not running over any pedestrians during a casual drive around the block"
3) Getting mocked by Brits eternally for only being qualified to drive automatic

iconicindex on prices do you mean actual driving lessons? Cause yes they are expensive, but if you took them here on manual then that would negate the last point! I asked for driving lessons for like all my birthdays and Christmases while I was learning. I failed my first test but passed by second and it was fine! Even the one I failed was fine if that makes sense, didn’t feel too horrible or intimidating. but yeah it is expensive and inaccessible for lots of people!
