if you're not looking for anything specific, there are a million great little automatic film cameras on ebay for <$100 that would be perfect for travel and should all take perfectly fine photos. just look for "automatic point and shoot." if you want a little more control look for something like a Canon EOS Elan--very capable and easily found for about a hundred bucks (and sometimes much less). a lot of stuff from the end of the film era is worthless nowadays but was the height of technology back then

Almost everything in the Olympus point-and-shoot line is great and pretty portable! Fuji made some solid ones too

I haven't seen a film camera in more than 15 years, isn't it expensive/difficult to develop the film nowadays?

lachdanan it's definitely not as fast or cheap as it used to be, for reference my place turns it around next day for $15 and a roll of something cheap like gold/superia is about $10

Whatever used point-and-shoot you can find in your budget

Don’t get one of the new cheapies from Urban Outfitters. Look for something that is all automatic if you’re not that experienced with cameras in general. I think Etsy is a decent option, easier to find things than eBay. Have you checked the price of 35mm film and developing? Make sure you actually can afford the hobby before buying a camera!

Here’s two beginner Suggestions!

Digicam: Canon PowerShot A2300 Can be had off eBay for less than $160. Canon made durable point and shoots in the early 2000’s to 2010’s so this thing will endure whatever you throw at it. Film Camera: Olympus makes some of the best point and shoot film cameras, in this case, I suggest the Olympus XA. The hype around this camera is mostly justified.
