while I'm not sure how this will compare to boiled rat soup, I feel like this is a pretty reliable soup recipe. its simple to make and delish, esp with bread. lmk if you want me to share my recipe, but I'm sure you can find a good recipe anywhere online
we'll have to give it a shot, but we're all about organic, non-gmo produce. our rats are home grown, the best quality in the city. we'd need to find a real farm to table situation. the most beautiful, fragrant, ripe, organic squash, free of preservatives, and in the most moist soil. but it looks like butternut squash is out of season, so we'll have to survive till the winter to give it a try.
allstnyc i understand your plight and raise you another recipe. chicken should be available and might even have a similar taste to rat, although I cant testify for the validity of that claim. chicken katsu is another one of my go-to's when I'm too lazy to go shopping for a bunch of ingredients. if you need a comparison, its essentially just if you fried the rats instead of boiling 'em and if the rats were replaced with chicken. again, there are tons of good recipes online that are hard to go wrong with. i wish you the best of luck with your cooking endeavours 🫡
so fun to make and it tastes so good. i add a lot of heavy cream just to make it a little more liquidy and sweet but it tastes fine w/o cream as well. i found the recipe i use on tiktok and there are a ton more all over the internet. i like to put some candles out while i cook this so i can pretend to be a medieval housewife cooking a meal for my six children with the last of our food before winter sets in
My flatmate made a version for me once when my wisdom tooth was taken out, and I was surprised at how easy and versatile this veg was. I tend to start mine with a base of onions and garlic, and then some spices (turmeric, ginger powder, generic curry powder) before I throw the squash in with chicken stock. It's my favourite lazy soup these days.
no idea what sparked this but i just had a random meltdown over baseball. the next note after this one was also abt baseball so i think i was just going thru something
one of the best concept albums of all time. follows a young woman named Ethel Cain (the character, not the artist) as she encounters various men and eventually meets her violent death at the hands of one of the men. truly visceral and even disturbing at some parts but so so good, really recommend giving it a listen
