I had to do a Cold War interview for history class and I am so glad! I called up my grandma and we chatted based on questions I came up with and I got to learn more about her career! She is so interesting! There’s so many great AI transcription services nowadays available for free which is what I used to take down the transcription!

i sat down w my grandad and listened to him talk about his whole life for like 5 hours, incredibly immersive experience that’s unlike any conversation I’ve ever had. Helped to build an archive of my family and also learned so much about my grandad and his whole philosophy on life.

I decided to learn Mandarin partly for my grandma, and now that she's gone I just wish I knew more about her life, and her family before marriage, before kids, you know what I mean?
Now that I'm older and able to travel, I do wish that I had more time with her (as selfish as it sounds) and I miss her terribly. I ask my parents lots of questions though so it's not too bad!
Cherish them if they're good to you, most times elders can be awful too.
