i’ve heard a lot of music in the last 4 years, but if i had to boil it down to three essentials, it would be:
swimming - mac miller - big for when i was 15
pixel bath - jean dawson - absolutely integral record for me. has lots of glitchy elements that have translated into the majority of the music i listen to today
untrue - burial - precursor to going to england for uni.

Yeah if it was May 2014, I’d be rec’ing not caring about your senior year finals, having a doubles partner in tennis that makes you laugh so hard you lose entire matches, riding in the beds of pickup trucks, listening to Alt-J and Wavves.
By June it would be: wearing a bathing suite out to every party, and ending up in a pool. By August: camping in Montauk and The Rolling Stones’ Moonlight Mile. By October: the Front Bottoms, Vulpeck’s My New Car, autumn in New England.
By December: drawing with charcoal and listening to Julian Casablancas’s Phrazes for the Young, but as a Christmas album 🎄

in 8th grade my friend megan and i would walk around in the suburbs for miles to each others houses and parks and 7/11 and we’d play these songs at full volume on our iphones. we couldn’t drive but we could pick flowers from peoples gardens and go to the park at night…we stayed within our little neighborhood in our small town but felt so free
today i listened to northern downpour by panic at the disco for the first time in years and i started crying at school! i never thought it would be like this again…that beautiful ass song brings me right back to who i am at my core. nostalgia usually gives me the ick but rn it’s sweet to hold on to. like my whole life is changing so fast but some things will always feel the same

A.G’s record is his best to date, but lengthy. Had he cut out some of the slower cuts it would be undeniably incredible. Really great stuff all around tho.
Its finally getting warm enough to enjoy Turnstile, too. Glow On is a record that radiates warmth through meaty punk riffs, surf rock melodies and intensive drumming.
